About eSIM
An eSIM is a digital SIM card built into your phone. No plastic card is needed: after payment, you install the eSIM with one tap or by scanning a QR code, and get mobile data in your destination.
Yes, this is the most common setup. Your SIM card stays in the phone for calls and texts (for example, bank codes), and the eSIM becomes your mobile data line while you travel.
No. Plans are data only: no phone number, regular calls or SMS. You can call and message through apps. The eSIM can’t receive SMS codes either.
Choosing and paying
Every day you first get a full‑speed allowance — it’s shown in the plan details. Once it’s used up, the connection stays on: the speed drops to the rate stated in the plan (usually 512 kbps) until the allowance renews 24 hours after activation, not at midnight. Messengers, maps and taxi apps work at this speed; for video, plans with a fixed amount of GB are better.
A country plan works only in that country. For a multi‑country trip, choose a region such as Europe: tap the number of countries next to the region’s name to see the list. If no region fits, buy an eSIM for each country.
With a Visa or Mastercard bank card.
Compatibility and installation
Tap “Check compatibility” on this page and type your phone model. Another way: dial *#06# — if an EID number appears, your phone supports eSIM. Carrier‑locked phones and most models made for mainland China are not supported.
Install it in advance over Wi‑Fi: installation doesn’t start the plan (except for Turkey). The validity period starts when your phone connects to a network in your destination. The eSIM must be activated within 89 days of purchase.
While traveling
Turn on Data Roaming only for the eSIM and only in your destination: if you turn it on earlier, the plan may start too soon. On arrival, set the eSIM as your mobile data line. The eSIM is prepaid — everything is included, with no extra charges; to avoid roaming charges from your home carrier, make sure mobile data goes through the eSIM.
1) Make sure you’re in the country covered by the plan. 2) Set the eSIM as your mobile data line. 3) Turn on Data Roaming for the eSIM. Still not working? Restart your phone and contact support.
An installed eSIM can’t be moved on your own, and the QR code works only once. If you reset your phone, don’t erase the eSIM — it can’t be restored. If your phone breaks, contact support and we’ll help.
